    Registration and Cancellation Policy

    In order to better serve our members, it is a goal of the Anchorage SHRM chapter to keep incurred costs to a minimum. Because many of the costs associated with our program events are based upon accurate attendance projections, all attendees are strongly encouraged to register in advance. You may do so through our website or directly from the monthly invitation sent to your e-mail address. It is the responsibility of the registrant to maintain a copy of the confirmation e-mail as that number is needed in the event you may need to cancel. Effective November 1, 2012, ASHRM requires pre-payment at the time of registration.

    Registration Policy

    Registrations must be received by midnight the Friday before the event.

    Unless otherwise noted, registration rates are as follows:

    • Monthly Program/Chapter Meeting:
      • $32 member
      • $42 non-member
      • $20 student
    • Special events: prices vary depending on length and type of event.

    In the event that your organization needs to pay via check, please contact the Programs Chair to coordinate registration and payment.  Contact information can be found at http://shrmalaska.shrm.org/board-members

    • Member: Active Anchorage/MatSu/Southeast/Northern Alaska chapter Member:  a national SHRM member that has designated either the Anchorage or the MatSu chapter as her/his chapter.
    • Non-Members: At-Large Member: a national SHRM member that has not designated either the Anchorage or MatSu chapter as her/his chapter, regardless of the reason. In order for at-large members to obtain the member discount, they need to designate either the Anchorage or Matsu Chapter as their primary Chapter.  The designation form for Anchorage may be found on the Anchorage Chapter website in the “About Us” tab in the “How to Join ASHRM” section; MatSu members need to contact their chapter’s President for assistance.  Upon downloading the form, completing and submitting it to the Chapter, they will be eligible for member pricing starting with the following month’s event(s).
    • Guest or Non-member: Any community individual that is not an active Anchorage/MatSu member.  This includes at-large members.
    • Students: An active national SHRM student member affiliated with a student chapter. If there is no active student chapter in the university the student attends, the student price will be honored.  Current/valid SHRM student number required.  This fee does not apply to any professional chapter member (Member definition, above) who is also attending school.

    Walk-ins / Waitlisted Paying at the Door

    There will be a $5 service charge added to the regular event fee for all individuals not pre-registered and paid in advance, including those on the wait-list.  Wait-list individuals will be taken in the order of date of registration on the waitlist.  Walk-ins and wait-listed individuals will be asked to wait until an ASHRM event Coordinator can evaluate whether there is enough room and food for all attendees.

    Substituting Registration

    Registrants unable to attend and that did not unregister on time may have someone else attend in their place. The person substituting the original registrant only needs to provide the name of the substitution to the ASHRM coordinator at the registration table on the day of the event.

    Cancellation Policy

    Cancellations received by midnight the Friday before the event will be fully refunded. In order for this to happen, registrant must cancel online following instructions on the confirmation e-mail received after online registration.  No refunds will be issued after this date.  No-shows that fail to unregister will be billed at the full amount and no credit will be provided towards future programs.
